Thoughts on the third episode of Doctor Who.

It was mostly disappointing. Mostly because I had spoiled myself more than a little, but also because it just couldn't compare to the fast paced action and mystery of the first two episodes.
It also doesn't quite compare to the PotC movie. Which has more awesome mermaids, although ( Spoilers, maybe. But probably not though I feel obliged to anyway. )

things i have seen, commentary, doctor who

Yeah, this one definitely wasn't my favorite... But the next couple are much, much better, and I believe you will like them. ♥

Well, since once of them is written by Neil Gaiman, I would expect better.

I'm pretty sure I read that Captain Avery was a real life pirate who disappeared without a trace... bur yeah, not the best episode. The next one is Neil Gaiman though!

I've heard it referred to as Schroedinger's foetus. And Cap'n Avery, or Every, was indeed a real dude. He dropped off the record w'out trace some time after 1696.

That too. It's mostly just amusing to refer to Schrodinger's theory. (And it actually isn't true to the theory, seeing as the Doctor only knows about it because the TARDIS is doing a scan, which is observing, which negates the entire uncertainty and 'state of both alive and not' even though the the switching between the two is doing a rather good job of convincing me that it's in both states.)

And hah, I knew my 'reading about pirates' stage was useful for something. Even if I can never remember any pirates' real name.

Reading about pirates is always useful.
