This was so sad and beautiful at the same time; I feel for you. Your writing works perfectly with kittenboo's; I can see why she chose you as her champion for this round. You're both so raw and open, even about those things that many people don't want to say out loud about themselves. I don't think you can really consider yourself a failure until you've reached the point where you just don't care anymore. I can tell you care, I can tell you want better, I can tell you are still trying, even if it doesn't work the way you're expecting. You're not failing if you're not giving up-and contrary to what you say here, giving up is an option, one that countless parents have taken before, but the fact that you don't consider that an option at all speaks volumes as to the person you are.
