::envy:: I'd love to go to the library, just have a few hours to leaf through books and chill...

Enjoy the gorgeous weather!

You should definitely go. Right now they've got a neat exhibit of moderinst chairs and lamps from the 1950s. And also, of course, books :)

Aww, poor guy. But that was nice of him to wish you happiness. That's really hard to do when one is miserable and single. I hope he finds his date soon.

Total pick up line. Honestly, who arranges to meet a blind date at a local library?

I dunno. It's true, not many people would think of it, but this library is only a few blocks away from the 3rd Street Promenade, where they were planning to see a movie. And as far as a place to wait for someone (who may or may not show up, and who may or may not be someone you want to ditch), it beats a street corner or a cafe. You're safe, warm, and comfortable with interesting things to look at, and you don't have to order drinks to keep on sitting there. Plus, you are hopefully impressing on your date the fact that you are well-read (or at least literate). If I were the woman, I think that might be a pretty smart place to meet.
