You know, I never thought of it that way - losing what you could do as being a new starting point. It's a very good way to look at it and likely more healthy art-wise.
I'm trying to unlearn a lot of what furry taught me and in essence took away from me. I remember art for the sake of art and not for the sake of praise. I want to go back to that state before this fandom bogged my style and direction down.
No more furries. Back to good ol' fashioned animal people.
Well, I hope you upload 'em someplace, even if it's just to let people on your FL take a gander, I am interested to see what you re-teach yourself and such.
I need to take that approach myself, particularly seeing some unlearning as a new starting point instead of as defeat [something I've been dealing with for myself ever since I stopped drawing regularly, and particularly lately now that I want to draw more again but am falling short of what I want to do].
