You mention drums. I've loved them forever and always though i learned to plsy the trombone in elementary school (and Jr. high, and high school).

But I've always loved drum and bugle corps and find that the drum cadences are my favorites. I loved marching but most of all I loved a cadence for physical training runs.

I find cadence to be very motivating. It speaks to some part of my brain that says, "Get up and move!"

Oh man, I am the marching band QUEEN. We were a military style band, so officers were all ranked. I was the band captain (top ranking officer). I was also voted outstanding bandsmen. I miss it. *sigh*
