Yesterday a snake appeared in my garden. Nothing fancy, just a simple green snake, but our ecosystem isn't very welcoming for them. I can honestly say I haven't seen a snake this side of the protected parks in years. Unlike the iguanas who've infested our yards, but that's another story. I've considered, started, and stopped creating altars a few times. In the end I've determined that I'm really quite terrible with the implements of religion.

But I can take a little patch of asphalt and sit down and find myself in-tune with the rhythm of the world in a matter of moments. It's an intuitive connection. I think I've always been able to do it but I've attributed it to something else.

I wouldn't actually consider it a religious thing in my case because... I don't have a religion. I don't believe in a god or goddess, nor do I practice rituals or ceremonies. The altar's more of a physical manifestation to help me visualize what it is I want to do. That's all.
