I took a small step in and shrugged sheepishly. "Well..." I couldn't get you off of my mind the entire week and this look in your eyes kept haunting me and making me want to take it away. "I thought I'd surprise you. Give you a little something..."
I nervously bit my lip and brought the basket I had made out from behind me. "Lunch?" I looked down at my hands and blushed, my hair falling over my face. There was something about his eyes that just did something to me.
I laughed slightly. "Sounds like a normal life to me." I take a sip of my drink and place it on the table. "Mine w-wasn't all happy, I don't even remember seeing roses." I shook my head. "You know what I m-mean."
I took another sip of my drink and smiled slightly. "Well, if you need a sponsor to help you w-ork on it..." I'll gladly help.
I brushed my hair behind my ear and start dishing out for the two of us. "I umm It's been a while since I've cooked so...it might not be that great..." Then again anything I make is better than any one of Dawn's midnight creations.
He laughed. Now I had a feeling that was a new and different thing for him, maybe even rare. I enjoyed it for the fleeting moment it was there.
"I don't think I've had a home cooked meal in years. No one's cared enough."
I looked at him. "Well I..." I what? What do I...? I have no clue. I just let that drop and we eat in silence for a bit.
I smiled to myself, I was pleased how everything came out, it wasn't easy trying to bribe the desk clerk to use the staff kitchen. Even then I had to spend extra time cleaning it before I even thought of cooking.
"So. About the other night ..."
I took a sip of my drink and looked over at him. "Which night?" Was he going to talk about the night he came onto me at the club and was a total jerk or the night after that when he held my wallet hostage till I went out with him.
I shrugged. "No worries, It's ok. Long forgotten." Liar.

"I ... I don't know what to say. I figured after the other night I'd never see you again."
I moved from behind my desk and walked around it. I motioned towards a leather couch in my office. I hoped she would sit.
"But, I'm glad ... that you're here, even though, this place has a tendency to taint good people."

Then surveyed the food. "I don't think I've had a home cooked meal in years. No one's cared enough."
It made me wonder if she cared, why she cared enough. Why would she do this at all?
I sat there and watched her out of the corner of my eye as I ate. Very good food, she was too hard on herself.
"So. About the other night ..."

I wasn't good at this kind of thing, I never had been, and she threw me so far for a loop I didn't know what to say.
I suddenly realized how close we were sitting on the couch. I coughed inadvertantly. What was I feeling.
