Cuz I looked up 'adage' and it was something like... a useful maxim/proverb/saying..etc.
While the WR is not exactly any of the above, there are some parallels since it's basically proposing useful ways for the aged to live their lives out better.

But- But-

I still like Greying Geezers better.
