depends on the kid , but no  i dont think so  i think drivers training is not very  efficient  most of them teach but they don't teach some very important skills. i know very few people who merge properly and collision avoidance ,  well i don't thinks so!  my father put me behind the wheel of a racecar long before i got my drivers permit    i see ( Read more... )

Ha! Do we all want to be dead? *snork* Sure, let's just hand over the keys and walk away. *snork* What a dumb idea.

O.k., now that's out of the way.

No, we shouldn't, regardless of who the kid is. You can have the most responsible kid in the world and you can have the most irresponsible kid in the world, but when they each hit 16, neither one of them is going to know how to drive well. That has to be taught, regardless. And I also maintain, like you do, that driver's ed today sucks. I know it, I went through it. There's a lot I wish I'd learned then. Some of it only comes with practice, or whomever's teaching you, but still.
