Second novel idea

None of this will make sense to most of you reading it. This entry is kind of for me and me only. Something to do after the first one's published that's never been done before simply because the story is about the end of the world and it's "technically feasible".

Premise/Synopsis: Hacker uses AI bot to manage a wave of infected computers. Takes cross-country trip to find woman he met online. Along the way he meets the four riders of the Apocalypse: Death, War, Famine, and Pestilence. Hunted by an NSA agent and an FBI agent. Finds woman dead, releases code to convert AI-run network into an "assasination market" on death, bringing an end to all governments. Written as a travelogue.

Time: Present/Near Future. (NSA, Truman, 1952)

Players:
Narrator - Minnesotan/Iowan/Nebraskan. Still haven't pinpointed this one. Fascination with AI, black-market spamming, online gambling extortion, and uses phising tactics to solict thousands of dollars online.

Death - (Based on former roommate). Acknowledged love of chaos, government failure, enjoys map-making, talks openly of his love of God. Triggers detailed investigation into the failed theory of a renowned civil engineer by discrediting his life's work. His words and stares cause individuals to feel pathetic and commit suicide.

War - (Based on current roommate). Has a passion for gun design, enjoys fast cars, loose women. Also takes a very concentrated approach to conflict, which draws the attention of "might equals right" hounds. Has a CD of songs he plays which always seem to cause discourse amongst those in the vicinity.

Famine - (Based on "Brad" from first novel, a libertarian friend of mine). Pot smoker/hippie. Talks of lore and important works of ages past. Whistles an eerie tune and crops fade away and die. Bets on the futures for the crops he demolishes and makes money.

Pestilence - (Based loosely on me). Sick as hell and can't even talk straight, still very clever, however. His presence alone is enough to pass a deathly sickness, but only if the viewer feel pity for him. Speaks as though he's verifibly insane, but impacts the narrator.

(Unnamed Female) - The AI bot name. Need to pull this in with a lore of some sort. Like a name that is not as well known but has a historical figure with the same name from some interesting story. Or a name that means something in another language.

(Unnamed Female) - The online woman the narrator is pursing. Single mother of one, mid-thirties.

Ken Mis - The male FBI agent apathetic to the narrator's cause. Habits include online fetishes, webcam whoring, etc. Known to break protocol and just wants to apprehend the narrator and talk to him.

(Unnamed Male) - Male NSA agent (also from Midwest) intent on obtaining the AI bot for the NSA director. Drunkard, blames hackers for wife divorcing him after he was caught cheating by one. Excellent aim. Oblivious to narrator's "assasination market" capability.

(Unnamed Male) - Elderly NSA director/officer. Worked in his earlier years on the mercury/fish coverup, which caused the existence of the younger intelligent men out of the Midwest as fishfed and farmbred males. Wants the AI bot for it's online caching and trending capabilities.

Detailed Specifics: A completeley anonymous persistent assasination market can be established with the framework provided by such protocols as TOR and onion-routing. Because one can now host a completely anonymous web server, all a potential assasin or those wanting to "put a hit out" on someone need is Privoxy, TOR, and a website hosted on the TOR network to do their business. What the narrator of the novel will be establishing is a dedicated network of zombies and then utilizing TOR to switch them all over to a loosely connected network of bots that can transfer mySQL backups between each other while serving out a PHP web "market forum" for assasination attempts. The AI bot is a permanently-TOR-connected "brain" of the operation that can take user-submitted exploits to continually compromise workstations/servers and add them to the assasination market. Potentially, the narrator can phase out the functionality of the AI bot and implement the "exploit-testing" on a server-by-server basis. Some of those compromised machines might be configured in such a way that they never test code. An extensive communication set could be used so that individuals zombies would be able to gauge the effectiveness of a particular exploit and thus use it on their internal networks in an attempt to add more compromised zombies to the network.

Put simply, while this novel is set in the Near-Future, the capabilities for such a completely anonymous persistent assasination market exist TODAY.

Note to those of you who read my journal: This journal is not indexed by Google. I have it set that way for a reason. Please keep the premise of this novel to yourselves. Thanks.
