Don't remind me of how much i hate them for how weakly they ended Eko.
Although after last episode, which was FINALLY decent, it makes more sense. So the island is evil. It wants what it wants and if you stand in its way, you are dead. Maybe Ben is actually a hero? Trying to supress jacobs will. Maybe Locke is just the person weak enough to do its bidding no matter what?
Maybe Jack's destiny is to actually stop Jacob. Not help him.
The plot actually made a lot less sense after Eko went, and I'm not saying that just because he was one of my favorite characters, but with Eko, the Island's personality as a sentient, possibly mystical force was very profound simply because Eko himself thought it was profound and that it meant something. Then Smokie randomly wafted by and throttled him to death and now we didn't have anyone to lead us through the jungle with an axe to figure some shit out
( ... )
"The Island is probably the best character on the show but for some reason, it's personality is extremely inconsistent."
Maybe the island is really Kate then.
My idea is that the island is evil. All people and survivors that make it there are there because at some point, they will serve a purpose for the islands ultimate goal. It uses those people until it gets what it wants. Once Eko forgave himself and believed in himself, the island could not manipulate him anymore, and killed him for it.
Which makes Jack's torture for leaving the island so interesting. Why Jack? To actually follow him and torture him into madness and suicide is crazy. Why can't someone else do it? When Locke can't do something for whatever reason, the island always finds someone else to fill the void for the time being. So whatever Jack has to do, must be something only JACK can do. Which is trippy.
And like Ben said, the fact that Locke is resurrected, IS scary. Whatever Jack and Locke have to do there, must be pretty fucking CRAZY.
Actually, that would explain why she's still alive - along with the guys she has the least bit desire of boning. Because let's face it, if anyone's TSTL, it's teh k8.
Oh, Eko. You were so cool. And I did love the rest of that dream, with those beautiful shots of Ana Lucia. I thought it was really stupid that he didn't go to the funeral, though.
I recently developed a new theory that you might be interested to hear. It involves bad writers stumbling upon good character by sheer dumb luck (emphasis on dumb). They freak out, wondering how the heck they're possibly going to live up to said good character and instead of pushing themselves as writers, they go for the easy way out - by killing all the good characters.
I meant to put the AL part of the dream in there...I wasn't sure if that was considered a scene unto itself. >:-/ Oh well. *will make up for that :D*
I would have preferred that Eko had dug the grave instead of *gagbarf* KATE. One character who had pretty much NO connection to Ana whatsoever (especially since they cut out the scene in one of the original drafts of the script where Ana notices Kate wearing one of her shirts) It's like...why? Why should she be the one to do it? >_>
If you had included that segment of Eko's dream, I certainly wouldn't have chewed you out for it! Looking forward to seeing how you make up for it!

Oh, definitely! I think pretty much everyone thought it should have been Eko. Or Bernard (SERIOUSLY, WHERE THE HELL WAS HE?!) or Jin or ANYONE who had ACTUALLY spent TIME with her. The only possible explanation I can come up with is that teh k8 had watched the two guys she wished were in her male harem bonding in their grief over loss of Ana Lucia and had to let out some of her frustration. Of course, that would be assuming that any of teh k8's actions make any sense and let's face it, that's giving her a lot of undeserved credit. More likely, the writers decided they needed to give teh k8 some more attention (because she's so *gagbarf*pretty!*/gagbarf*) and couldn't think of any other way to give her more screen-time in that episode (please

Even their big supposed cat fight in "The Long Con" was really just the two of them mad-dogging each other for a few seconds - and I kind of thought Ana Lucia's glares were more directed at Sawyer
I've never been so disappointed by a catfight evar. And it really is true, she did seem more irked at Sawyer than at anything Kate was up to. Heck, she could easily have been squinting at a bug flying in midair, the scene was just that ridiculously vague.
And ROFL, @ musical boyfriends. Speaking of which, I understand there is some amount of Juliet hate now that she's playing interference in the Holy Trinity. I have yet to see it, mind you. I won't believe it 'till I see it in icon form!
You must realize I want to read that fic now. ;) With any luck, Sawyer will assist in the search for her luggage? ;) ;)
BTW, I must wonder how it is that we are not LJ friends yet. Our interests appear compatible...although I do have yet to meet someone who doesn't like mexican food and chocolate.

Just a theory.
