You've chosen to be ok. You can't change the things you've done in times past, but if you really feel so weighed down by them then all you can do it stick to your decision and try and avoid the fuck ups that have danced with you before. Make a choice either way, Gray, but whatever you choose you need to run with it. It's all the to-ing and fro-ing that's fucking you up. Either decide to spiral out, or decide to dig your way up. There are still enough people who seem to care about you despite everything, and I sincerely hope you chose the digging up option.
I agree with your friend above. Stopping the cycle is the way to stop the madness. This is your body and your mind trying to come to grips with the fact that the other side of the scale is weighing heavier. You are determined to get away from that lifestyle and that IS the hope. In my opinion, it's better to die having lived and experienced than young, lost and with a needle in your arm. You are doing what you KNOW is best in your heart...but nothing comes easily. You have to strive through the pain, frustration and adversity. This will not be forever. Stay clean Gray, in a month you will feel like a brand new man. I support you no matter what because I recognize the value of your worth as a human being.
i know first hand that moving and starting over can be devastating because you feel cut off from the connections, routines, and purposes you had before. you have to give yourself new purpose, new connections.
yes, the world is tragic and life is empty, and there are days that i cry and i wonder about the horror of it. but you can bring joy to the world and fill it up with your purpose and your touch. you do this more than you realize: your perceptions and comments on life keep me reading your journal and thinking about life, for example.
