I remember once when I was 11 I ran into Alprilla farm road because I wanted to get away from everyone. Once it started raining I stopped being angry. You've got a good method.
What if growing up is one big power trip. Like the sense of accomplishments come from doing adult things start with just little rites of passage such as license, jobs, coffee, college, etc. Then as you age you become less satisfied, as that is what life is centered around: getting more out of materialism.
So you stop being satisfied by just the new found "Grown-up things", and then that begins the career struggle. The more "success" you have, the better you feel. It's like a high?
Dan and I were talking about this last night. Thing is, those milestones aren't really what make you happier, we just kid ourselves into thinking they are.
