1st LJ Art dump ftw!

I haven’t posted any artwork online in years. This is probably mainly because I haven’t finished anything I liked enough to post >_<.

But hell, I’m posting hoping that I’ll have time this semester to finish some of my sketches and improve my technique. Maybe. Ok, probably not. Damn you Engineering, why you gotta be hard?

Oh my god, holy crap, I love you! That's absolutely gorgeous, and you have Bane reading the paper and looking cranky and there are aprons and Marui and Jackal in the back room and oh my god the way Yuuta and Sae are looking at each other and and and--!

I wouldn't change a thing because it's absolutely perfect.

I'm so glad you like it! getting Yuuta and Sae close enough to be adorable and sweet at each other was the funnest part of the sketch

I'd be flattered for you to link to this, although groveling is not needed XD. I'm not one for a lot of hoopla <3.

(Incidentally, I like the tenipuri chibis--especially the ones of Sanada and Yukimura. They're too cute for words!)

Came via lysapadin's rec - first of all, the Tenipuri chibis are so funky! On a tangential note, they'd look great as like bumper stickers. ._. Hurh.

I love the sketch of the Rokkaku. Though the sketch makes it feel like the place is more crowded than it actually is (maybe because there's a lot in the sketch), it's so obvious that there's an intimate atmosphere there, which there is in the Rokkaku. Impressive. -worships- But uh, who are those two heads in the top right corner?

lol, I can see what you mean about the chibis. They have very graphic look to them (which is what I was aiming for :D).

The two heads are supposed to be the twins >_<, but it's not real obvious huh XD. I probably should have matched their fill color closer to the wall color.

Love the details you put into the chibi sketches. Sanada and Yukimura probably will be my wallpaper for a while (if you don't mind, that is). And the Rokkaku sketch makes me foam at the mouth because despite it being a sketch, there's so much going on. It also reminds me that I've yet to finish reading The Way to a Man's Heart *headdesk*

I'm so glad lysapadin posted a link to these. I really enjoyed viewing your sketchies. I hope you continue to draw for a very long time.

Well, the lines are nice, but the color really stands out. Have you thought to do much with color and coloring techniques. Fandom or otherwise, I bet they would look decent in a frame and on the wall. Something you might consider for somewhere down the road.

I see what you mean about the color; it does define the picture (I assume you're talking about the gift art.)

Color is actually very important to me. That is to say, it is one of my major weaknesses as an artist. I don't have a good grasp of color theory, nor do I have extensive experience in any medium besides graphite and ink. And even in graphite I have many areas which I could use improvement on.

However the good news is that I am slowly starting to buckle down and learn color theory and experiment with digital painting, so improvement is to come. man, this art thing is tough!
