Father Lombardi insisted, however, that there had been an overreaction to the pope’s remarks. “He was speaking more generally about gender theories which overlook the fundamental difference in creation between men and women and focus instead on cultural conditioning.”

Ratzinger is at it again
Joseph Ratzinger, the Bishop of Rome, recently held a speech to the Roman Curia which has been widely commented upon. I just read the thing in German (it is published on the vatican website in German and Italian) after celemon mentioned to me that a Swedish blog stated that he had been misinterpreted. Indeed he has been. The reality is worse.
