I'm considering renting a car for when I go to the south this summer. Looking on the Budget site, I selected a five day rental and accidentally checked the "I'll be returning the car to the same rental location" box, giving me a price of $178.99. Noticing my mistake I went back and changed the destination, then got a new price of $845.99. Whoa

we knew this from renting cars at sfo. roomate often has to rent a car because he will have to work in like, san jose, or sac, so his office pays for a days car rental over having to assess mileage, etc. nice perk! but renting at sfo you have to pay the airport tax, but the rate is lower. renting in sf there is no airport tax, but the rate is higher! go fig.
