Cable companies suck all over the world. They now they can treat you however they want because you have no choice. It's like freakin' People's Gas here.

Ah but you do have a choice: Satellite dish. I daresay if you requested a conversation w/ a manager, or even emailed a regional V.P., detailing your disappointment and asking them what incentive you have from them *not* to install a dish, you'll probably get the problem fixed very quickly. And if not, then you really know it's time for a dish. My BiL has one and has no problems w/ it that I know of.

2 fold problem. you need to buy a special tivo for satellite dish (and they don't have a Hdtv one) and then you'd need to get intouch with Ma Bell for a probably slower internet connection than you get through cable.

All in all it sucks.

Figures. Still, I'll consult w/ the BiL and see what works for him and doesn't (remember he too is a geek) and get back to you.

Funny to read this as my boss is on the phone with Comcast as we speak, pulling tens of thousands of dollars in service from them because they suck so much ASS.
