Resurrection

To ravage my mind, Doctor, far beyond what was necessary for your companion's interrogation... To lock me in a cycle of endlessly repeating memorised failures... To force me to remember things at my most crippled, my most scarred, my most defeated ( Read more... )

There is no defeat, if you do not reduce the enemy to complete non-existence.

The enemy can always rebuild.

Let us discuss rebuilding, Herr Davros. Let us discuss security.

Quite correct, Major. Nothing less than total annihilation of one's opposing faction can possibly suffice for anything but prolonged, instigation of conflict. He has rage, but little appreciation for true military strategy.

I am, as ever, open to practical suggestions...

A pity to have encountered such a failure. The first new generations of my creation were about to be formed.

He might claim mercy, but I wouldn't know to see into his mind. Perhaps he simply lacks follow-through.

A supposition. The Doctor is skilled in the arts of science, correct?

A man who abhores violence, only to fashion others into weapons upon his behalf. He is... A dichotomy.

Your supposition would, indeed, be correct. Excessively so. We are, at least, intellectual equals.

Surely your laboratory is salvageable.

[OOC: Davros's mood theme is so cute XD]

Surely not. The Doctor does love to meddle.

Of course, my whereabouts have safely remained... under his radar. Should you need a place to store the remains of your work.

I'd hate to see such progress lost.

Oh, I have noted your progress in this world with considerable fascination... That he gained in you an enemy, resurrected specifically to war against my perfection, I regard as a tribute to the nature of my own ingenuity.

But what could one such as yourself have to gain, by enlisting me for the inevitable production of that which you once ran from?

Aside from an attempt to gain control of the same.

I would visit that on you again a hundred fold for what you did, Davros.

Pacifism breeds creativity, I see...

Don't mistake a reluctance to kill for pacifism, Davros.

You are evolving, Doctor... A specialist study of mine.

Were I you, I would not have tolerated my existence, one second further. Were I you, Doctor, I would realise my folly with the utmost of bitterness.

Were I you, Doctor, I would not be distinctly worried by this turn of events.

And so he does rise again from the ashes, despite the best efforts of his foe.

... Expected, I suppose.

Some people cannot be broken, it seems.

Still, I wonder at the wisdom of announcing your intentions for all the City to see. The Doctor will be expecting you now, if he wasn't already.

I'd hardly call that my best effort.
