FIRST CHALLENGE!
sherlockiangirl and I would like to get this community going, so this January we are hosting our FIRST CHALLENGE!
Since we want readers to join as well as writers and artists, we are going to have a two part challenge to include everyone. You may participate in either part or both.

PART ONE:
Fiction: Write a 55 word story for your favorite fandom. Since the community is new, you may enter more than one story provided each is for a DIFFERENT fandom.
Art: Create any icon for your favorite fandom. As with fiction, you may enter more than one, provided each icon is from a different fandom.
PART TWO:
Share a link to your favorite story or work of art from before 2005. We will not be voting on these, but we will recognize the oldest fan work submitted. :-) There is a lot of good gen fan work out there going back decades, and it should be fun to see what people have to offer. You may share links to either your own or someone else’s work. However, please try to contact the author of a work if it is not your own to make sure that they do not mind. If it is impossible to contact them, you can certainly still link back to the story, but it would be courteous to try.

The challenge will end on FRIDAY, JANUARY 21.

Please remember that we would love to see more fandoms represented than we have tagged thus far. If your fandom (or a character in a fandom) is not represented, just let us know. :-)
Finally, spread the word about this community on your f-lists and on other comms (but ask the mods first, please!). We know that there are a lot of people in cyberspace who enjoy gen fic, and we would love to see them here!
And even-more-finally, please feel free to post your gen fanwork here, no matter how old or new it may be.
