Here's hoping that the US Supreme Court destroys the Defense Against Marriage Act and declares that banning gay marriage is unconstitutional and that gays deserve equal rights!

Between that and Amendment 1 not passing I just sat here and shook my head. I really wonder if people didn't understand what they were voting for or if they just have so much hatred that they don't care.

I think it's a mixture, really. A lot of people just don't do their research, and the wording on the ballots is beyond most peoples' comprehension.

The wording on Amendment 2 was the easiest to read. But the others I had to read four times before I got it. Geez.

But we will fight and prevail because we are Americans and that's what we do.

Prop 2 also takes away all benefits of relationships that are not marriage, regardless of gender. You would have to have great reading comprehension to get that from the wording on the ballot.
