To Boldly Age...

I just used Memory Alpha to figure out how old the people on Star Trek: The Next Generation were in season one. The first season was the year 2364.

I never realized Worf was so young. I always figured he was older [because he looked it]. However, does this factor in for difference in species aging? Worf may have been 24 Earth years old, but how far along in life was he compared with other Klingons?

Good question. Klingons are said to be able to live "well over a century," but I think humans in that time were also regularly living to over 100. Hard to say...

But how many Klingons actually made it to 100? It seemed like most were still clamoring for an honorable death in battle at that time.

My favorite page on that wiki is the one where they try to derive the history of France from Star Trek. http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/France

Ha! Well, it does certainly make it easier (read: possible) for me to remember any of it when filtered through one of my favorite pop culture references. It was very annoying to me when the Animaniacs started putting all of the information at which I had failed miserably into delightful jingles that I could memorize without effort, and mere years after it would have helped me tremendously.

I think the most interesting thing here is that TNG is over 20 years old.

It's been old enough to drink for a couple of years now!
