Bueller?

So, *no one* wanted to give my micro-PK experiment a shot? Zanfur (I think it was him) suggested that perhaps I should write a web interface for it, or in some other way make it simpler to get and use. Would anyone want to do it if I went through that headache? Throw me a line here, I'd like to get an N of at least a few thousand, and there is ( Read more... )

Yup, that was me. You're already wading into Ruby, may as well take a look at Rails. I'd play with it, if you made it. :-)

If you had a web interface, I'd do it :)

Send me the CLI code. I'll run it on my box.

I am code illiterate...I just haven't had time to find out what Ruby is or figure out how to compile it. I'd be more than willing to use a web-interfaced setup.

Besides, then you can set up the program to eliminate users faking the results. I.E. "Pick number of attempts" and stop automatically after that many in case people lose track. Have the results file sent to you automatically on completion to prevent tampering.

I know they'll just make a better idiot, but maybe you'll get enough results before then. :)

I've been planning to do your micro-PK experiment, but I've ended up being busier on the weekends than I anticipated I would be when we first discussed this, and my weekdays are rather full. I'll finish finals next week, though, and I plan to play with the experiment during break.

However, a web interface would be lovely, if you'd be willing to create one. :)

Ah, no worries - truth be told, I've been finding myself pretty busy during the weekends as well..

Since there's so much approval for it, I'll go ahead and learn about "Ruby on Rails" and try to roll up a web page for automatically creating and recording people's results. :)
