I knew I should have force-fed you something...

And the spandex-clad bastards can all go to hell; you did great, and I'm proud of you. Especially given your reliance upon that sad excuse for a bicycle, and your apparent aversion to shorts. At least you wore sneakers... I think I'd fall down and perish if I tried to make such a run in combat boots. :)

How's the recovery going, by the way? I imagine your muscles are still communicating their displeasure with what I'm sure they'd define as undue exertion, although I hope you've managed to catch up on sleep by now. But you mentioned you were going to bicycle into work Monday morning, which sounds a bit much, at least by my standards. Anyway, I hope you feel better...

jeans, empty stomach, rebuilt single-speed, and sleep deprived?

you did freaking amazingly.

next time you should make it pour rain, drink three bottles of wine the night before, don't sleep at ALL, and ditch those nasty sneakers for a nice pair of heels.

*has an interesting mental image of himself running in pumps* Honestly, I was a little surprised to go over just how many things I did "wrong" afterward. I'm most certainly going to do this again, and try to make them "right"...though.....it is a little bit tempting to, say, add a half-pound of steel weight to my body the next time, and keep upping it every year until I'm doing it under a huge handicap in the end....

Hmm, except for the swim. I might legitimately drown doing that... :(

I just think it's awesome that you finished. You've figured out some things to do differently, but you're doing well enough that trying the actual thing you're trying to do and then figuring how how to do it better is a worthwhile strategy, and that's a great place to be.
