Well, I need some money and have a few electronics to sell, for parts or what have you. All comments are being screened.
First: Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop, purchased October 2007. Still works fine, runs Windows Vista x64 (32-bit). 1 GB RAM, 120 GB Hard Drive. Broken hinges, exterior chassis damage (scratches and small dent in "Dell" logo on the top of the computer, and slight damage to the lid from the hinges breaking). Screen is still fully functional, but can not be manually positioned and tends to fall backward sometimes. Both hinges can be replaced to make the computer fully functional, or it can be stripped for parts. Mouse buttons are worn and require being held down to work, especially the left mouse button. Touchpad works fine. Microsoft proof of license/certificate of authenticity sticker partially removed; serial number and model number unreadable on bottom of chassis. This computer has not been in use since August 2009. 6-cell battery (purchased December 2008) and power cord included. Would be great as an extra/external hard drive. All non-Windows files will be deleted; hard drive can be completely formatted upon request. $100 OBO, plus shipping.
Second: White Nintendo DS Lite. Right hinge (where the power/charging lights are) broken off the device. All buttons still work, screen is fully functional. This still works fine other than the fact that the screen/lid can wobble and be pulled nearly completely away from the rest of the device. I was literally playing Pokemon Sapphire when the piece of plastic broke off, and it did not affect play function in any way. Purchased approximately May 2007. This one likely couldn't be repaired, unless the chassis can be completely replaced. Original stylus included. $25 OBO, plus shipping.
Pictures of the Dell:
Top view of the lid/chassis. The scratches are pretty light, none of them go too deeply into the plastic.
View of right and left hinges from the back. You can see where the top and bottom pieces of the plastic on the lid started to separate.I don't think any of the plastic in these locations is broken, but it was forced apart.
Open view of the laptop. It is staying open of its own free will, but it can't be manually positioned and has been known to fall back to almost completely flat. All buttons work, but the backspace button has been known to pop off occasionally. The mouse buttons are also worn out and do not work well.
Inside views of the broken hinges.
Bottom view of computer. Top center is the torn Microsoft Certificate of Authenticity/Proof of License sticker. Right side is where the serial and model numbers should be. I did not take those off intentionally, it was scratched and rubbed by handling and use. Some of the rubber feet are missing as well.
Closeup shots of the aforementioned spots.
Pictures of the Nintendo DS:
Top view of Nintendo DS Lite. Note the missing hinge.
Closeup of the broken hinge. The plastic snapped off fairly cleanly and didn't affect any of the components inside.
The DS open. The lid/screen can't stay open at an angle. Funny how these things tend to happen to me, huh?
Better view of the broken area.
However, both screens work just fine and the touchscreen was not affected. The right bumper still works as well. This was playing a Game Boy Advance game when it broke and the game did not stop working.
