Damon's gone. My item isn't linked to him anymore and his room is empty. To any of his friends, I'm so, so sorry.

The Admiral is such a fickle creature. Almost a year. I can't even remember our first meeting. A year ago...what were you doing? Were you here on the barge? Back at home?

Happy?

journals and alcohol don't mix, drama and stupid, probably a little emo, guilt tripping herself, complaints get you nowhere, o'brien is just misunderstood, damon is one letter from demon

You're not in the least bit sorry.

Right now, I don't care if I am powerless. I just want to stop feeling that way.

Not really alright, no.

What's happened to you today?

Nothing happened to me. It happened to my inmate. And now I'm suddenly not supposed to care.

...both of those, Neil. I need both of those.

A year ago, I was watching a clone of my younger self go to his death. [And missing Ace and still mourning Hex quietly.] The poor man had thought he was truly me, and when he realized he wasn't... I couldn't convince him to persist on.

Not a very happy story, Doctor.

No. No it's not. But for every unhappy story there's a learning experience and a happy story in the making. For the times when the weight becomes heavy, I find a warm cup of tea and a book from someone whose thoughts turn to lighter things a welcome respite. Or if available, the company of a good friend.

Right, Doctor.

I said that, too. But it's nonsense. At least, for now.

I was performing at a wedding. It was immediately prior to my work aboard the Barge, and counting the time that I spent searching for Victor's creature, according to my internal chronometer I was singing at a wedding.

They must have been really good friends to you if you sang at their wedding.

My counselor and my Commander. They were the closest thing to family that I have ever known. Their relationship was not constant, but they had been in love for as long as I was acquainted with them. Counselor Troi was my greatest adviser in personal matters.

I am sorry for your loss. I miss my family as well. [They might have just been his crew, but they might as well have been his family as much as Dr. Soong was his father.]

I bet the wedding was beautiful.

Where was it?

If someone told me a year ago that I'd be living with a bunch of humans on an interdimensional space cruiser, I'd have laughed in their face then ordered them to a Zero Room for some down time.

As for what I was doing...it was something barely ethical, very classified, and absolutely essential.

Did you accomplish it?

Yes, I did.

It didn't make any difference in the end, however.

Why not?
