[Angelica had been "reading". The book was in her lap, and she was vaguely registering the words as she turned the page, but the story was passing her by.

She hadn't left her cabin in some time. It was just easier this way, not dealing.

She rose upon hearing the knock at her door, wary only until she heard Sveta's voice on the other side. Angelica answered it with a soft smile, propping herself up between the threshold and the door.]

Madam. How now?

[Sveta returned the smile sadly and held out a few of the chocolates she had stolen from Howie's room as an offering.]

I took these from Neil but...I thought you and I could have them instead. He won't miss them, I promise.

[She hesitated.] Well, even if he does, I don't care.

[Angelica actually laughed. It was nothing remarkable, nothing particularly joyous, but it was still a little bit of amusement. She took the chocolates from Sveta with a bit of a nod.]

Aye, Sveta, thank you for stealing these for me. No need to stand in the corridor, come in.

[She stepped back into her cabin, expecting her friend to follow. She picked her through the array of objects on the floor, skirts lifted over her shoes to keep herself from tripping.] Oh, and pardon the....chaos, I suppose. The urge to tidy seems to have passed me by.

I don't mind. [She stepped inside, shutting the door behind her. She didn't really mind the mess too much. It wasn't really the point. But...it was rather telling.]

And you're welcome. We all can use a bit of chocolate every now and again. [Following Angelica, she shoved her hands into her pockets nervously.]
