VZW customer service

Verizon customer service reps can't tell the difference between dollars and cents.

This is precisely what I didn't need to see while being pissed off that even they wouldn't make me a job offer even when I was willing to comply with all their crap...

I had a friend who worked for Verizon tech support, or some such department. Trust me. It's good you don't work for them. They don't treat their employees well.

That's not surprising, but it pays better than most of the actual computer stuff I've been applying for, and it's way better than sitting around wondering if I'll ever be able to do anything with my life other than sit around my parents' house.

That's . . . amazing. Really really amazing. Holy cow.

What crap did they want you to comply with?

Oh, that was more me being overdramatic than anything, really. They have several different shifts from 6am to 1am, and choice is by seniority, so I know I'd get screwed. Weekends and holidays are just other parts of the work week, as well, and are essentially meaningless as far as time off.

The job would have meant being able to accomplish certain things, but would also have meant potentially throwing away other goals of mine. Goodness knows I've thrown away enough already.
