...and then it rained...

Jun 01, 2006 23:56

It's midnight and I'm sitting in my room listening to the rain. It's one of those intense north-eastern summer storms that started out with nearly two hours of bright lightning and deafning thunder but no rain...until just a few minutes ago it began pouring. My roomate made fun of me for running outside and just standing amid the blinding ( Read more... )

Hey, are you working at Penn for the summer? Whereabouts? I defered there in neuro and may be there next fall (or I may re-evaluate my life in the next year and do something completely different). I'd love to hear about your experiences - I half defered at Penn because the only other program I got into (UCI) wouldn't do deferrals, but also because it's a new place, not in California, and getting an experience like that might be cool, even if the completely different environment might be kind of scary.
Anyhow, best of luck with the summer=) I love reading your posts - they're always really insightful=)

I work in the Clinical Research Program at the Penn Med School for the summer and pontentially this may turn this into a more permanent job. It combines the most amazing research/work environment I have ever been a part of with the least stimulating/welcoming city I have ever lived in. Still, there's something to be said for Philly and I'll try not to write it off quite so soon. It will certainly be very different for to if you were to come here. It's interesting that after years of not really talking to each other we still read each other's lj. Let me know if you decide to come here and I can recommed a some decent areas for you to live and stuff to do. What are you up to this summer?

My three days in Penn weren't as exciting. Maybe a snow flurry here or there, but I was in College Park home of the PSU Nittany Lions. Absolutely nothing to do but eat at the landmark of Ben and Jerry's ice cream. I haven't been in Philly for about 4 years now. I hope you take lots o pictures to remind me of Philly.

Well, Penn has been slightly more evenful for me because I have been here for almost two weeks and will be here for 8 more. Though I can't promise you pictures...not the most inspriring place to photograph, ignoring for a second the fact that I may actually get hurt taking pictures in certain parts of town.

First, good to see you're alright -- on multiple fronts.

To be long and short on one matter, I think it's better to regret what we've done rather than what we haven't done. In this case especially, you tried it out. And I think that deserves some credit.

On another, I still need to contact Wade; he's over at Temple Law School, working on their law review. His eljay moniker is moderatio, and he's a good kid.

It's a big step to be out of your zone -- especially now, more or less having graduated. Transitional anxiety is a bitch, and I'm glad it's slowly moving on. I'll try to give you a call later, k?

eljay? moniker? English man!!!

Ya, its definately better to regret actual actions than regreting inaction...though both can bring you serious doubts and unhappiness.
