Safety!

Current police update: 14 armed cops, 5 police cars, 3 campus security...all within 100 yards of my dorm. How safe do I feel now?!?!

The sad part is this kind of stuff is no longer surprising. A few nights ago I was outside my dorm and was trying to figure out if the noises I kept hearing were gun shots or fireworks...the ppl around me concluded gunshots because the sky was clear and we weren't seeing any fireworks. Another night we walked out of a diner just one waiter said to another "I hope no one gets murdered here this month"...THIS MONTH!!!

They are actually my personal security made up mostly of CIA and FBI agents.

While walking from the store yesterday, I saw an Oakland Police van, that looked like it had thicker walls than a Brinks van.

I did NOT feel safe.

Ya that's pretty much how things are here. Copps and security everywhere and I'm pretty much afraid to leave my building at night alone. Where abouts in Oakland do you live?
