CHARACTER
[series] Touhou Project
[full name] Suika Ibuki
[age] Unknown - but she speaks as though she remembers the creation of Gensokyo over 500 years pre-canon, and there’s implication she could very well be into thousands of years of age. Usually she appears physically as a young girl, around 10-12 years old - here she will be aged-up to a more adult, age-appropriate appearance, as a grown young woman.
[gender] Female, through and through.
[canon point] Post Hisoutensoku - 12.3

[personality] First and foremost, Suika Ibuki is an oni. Oni, in Touhou Canon, are known as some of the most open and honest creatures in all of Gensokyo. They do not like lying themselves, and tend not to like being lied to, either. They find it dishonorable and underhanded. They have a great amount of pride in themselves and their attitudes, and while it sometimes can get to the side of being boastful, it is mostly harmless, and well-backed up (as a race, they are among the most powerful youkai). The race generally tends to hold a great fondness for alcohol and partying, and are known as having the greatest alcohol tolerance among any other type of creature, youkai or otherwise. They absolutely love competition of any kind, and will tempt people into challenging them to various different kinds of it - any kind they can get, they will try their best to win at. They tend to hold to Zen and Buddhist philosophies, and despite sometimes being ferocious, especially toward humans, if they find a friend in anything - human or otherwise - they will become very close and friendly with them, and would not even tolerate the thought of betraying their friend in any way. In any case, they are strong-willed and tend to have powerful personalities, no matter the type of personality it is. Suika is, essentially, no different.

On a more individual level, Suika isn’t really a complex individual. She runs toward the impulsive, for the most part, leaping well before she looks. Given her normally high level of power, however, this usually doesn’t present too many problems. She does what she thinks is right long before coming up with a plan to see things through. She’s one of the more laid-back of the entire cast, let alone the oni, and spends most of her time drinking and/or being passed out drunk. When she’s awake, she’s jolly and cheerful, happily optimistic, to a childish extent, and it’s said that people will become tired of her childlike ways if they spend too much time with her. She’s friendly, even toward humans (she hangs around the Hakurei Shrine a lot, which is maintained by a human, and is even friends with the miko there), and will drink and party with just about anyone. Her love of alcohol seems to be great, even for an oni, as she carries a gourd full of sake that never empties, and there is canon implication she has not been sober in centuries, and with that, she enjoys getting drunk and raising havoc.

However, despite being normally cheerful and friendly, Suika is a very old, even ancient individual, and at times it does show. She has this habit of being able to pick out, and pick apart someone by their character flaws. For instance, she rather harshly pointed out to Youmu Konpaku that everyone makes fun of her behind her back because of her own shortcomings, right before proceeding to tell Youmu not to listen to Yukari because ‘Yukari’s existence is a lie’. It’s a harsh and critical side of her that sometimes, but not all too often comes out; and it’s likely that is her way of coping when she’s irritated or down about something.
[orientation] The only thing Suika’s ever shown a great love for is alcohol. Therefore, her real orientation remains unknown and up to interpretation.
[appearance] Suika is normally around ten to twelve years old in appearance, but given the circumstances, the sealing of her power over density will force her back into her adult form. Her adult form is tall - very tall - taller than most humans, even men can grow, with a large chest and shapely figure to match. Age-wise, she appears to be grown, but of indeterminable age, likely toward the younger end of the 20s spectrum, mostly because of her childish personality.

Aside from that, as an oni, Suika naturally possesses a pair of large, vaguely s-shaped horns on her head, as well as fangs and claws befitting of her oni heritage.
[wish] Her greatest wish is that the humans and the oni can go back to the relationship they had before the humans tricking the oni became too much for them and they left for the underground.
[requested house] None requested~!
[misc notes] Suika, being an oni, is known for having some of the greatest physical strength among any being in Gensokyo - greater than any youkai. She has some of the danmaku and spellcard abilities, but she doesn’t often use them, and prefers to fight with her fists instead. She can also fly like any of the other Gensokyo people. As a supernatural being, she can also survive more grievous wounds and heal faster than many other beings - and this is especially so given her oni nature.

Her real power lies within her ability to manipulate the density of things. In the game she originally appears in, she lowered her density so much she became a mist that covered Gensokyo. She can change things to become heavy or light at will and a whim. However, it’s not just physical density she can control - she can ‘gather’ things together such as people (population density, anyone?), or scatter them apart. The power itself is varied and useful, and she has also been called ‘the strongest in Gensokyo’ by Aya before. And even though Aya’s stories can be skewed from one side to the other, even Akyu, the chronicler of Gensokyo has said that there is nothing that can stop her, and that it’s best to just stay out of her way. She’s up there with the biggest and best at the top of Gensokyo’s power chain at the very least, that is for certain. And she has the curious ability to become more powerful the more drunk she gets until she loses ability to keep her smaller form at all and ends up as a very, very large individual. (think 20 feet tall or more)

SAMPLES
[Network Post ] [Your video opens to a very upbeat, cheerful looking Suika] I found them! Well, I can’t have them but I found them again! My gourd and my chains, I mean. They wouldn’t give them to me, but at least I know they’re alright! [She shifts, and it’s a heavy, drunken sway. Apparently she had a little bit to celebrate]

Oh and that bar said they were having a drink special! Anyone who wants to come have a drink with me, should! I love the company. In fact, everyone should come down here~! [She giggles and pirouettes in place] It’ll be a lot of fun, we can have a party!

[Prose log ] The streets were always quiet at this hour of the morning, with the sun only barely turning the horizon gray. Oh sure, there were still a few lights on and raucous voices coming through the doors of a few select houses, but most of the parties had wound down for the night. Suika loved this time of the morning, almost as much as she loved the time at night when everyone would gather for drinking and festivities. The peace and quiet was a nice, soothing contrast to the great fun of being in a gathering.

Her steps were rather heavy, her weight only barely balanced as she walked through the street, leaning heavily first one way then the other with her lingering intoxication. She glanced skyward, then, as she reached the center of the town. The mountain was before her, huge and imposing, silhouetted black against the barely lit sky; it looked so much like home that she was forced to stop. To stop and stare and for a moment, for a brief second she could pretend she was home again. Home with her friends, partying as she had the night before, drinking and being merry with all of the people she had come to know since she returned above ground…

… Or maybe... Maybe it reminded her of the days long since passed, the days when the land known as Gensokyo didn’t exist and the oni ruled the great Youkai Mountain, when it was her and the Devas and the other oni partying at all hours of the day and night, surrounded by tengu and other youkai that decided to scale the mountain to drink with them.

She shook her head, and it made her take a step to the side to balance herself. This wasn’t Gensokyo though. And that wasn’t Youkai Mountain. This was just a place she didn’t know, an unfamiliar setting under even more unfamiliar circumstances, and above all, this wasn’t a place she could be happy. Not really.

And so she moved on, trundling drunkenly onward toward the home she had been given in this place. Even if she couldn’t really be happy here, if she did well, she’d return home to things being like they used to, to the oni reemerging on the surface of the world to going back to being with the humans, just the way it used to be. The way she remembered it so fondly, the way she had once loved.

It was enough to keep her going, to keep the smile on her face.
