"It's time to go."

"uh huh." Pages turn.

"It's time to go _now_."

"uh huh." Pages turn. Glaciers melt. Communism resurges and fails again.

"It's really time to go." Reach out and close book.

"What did you do that for?" Wailing, gnashing of teeth.

I stand by my description. Wait for it; your turn will come.

"No, it's still *right there*."

But that is the most common other response, yes.

My almost year-old goddaughter's favorite toys are BOOKS!!! It's so awesome to see her play with her books. She's been turning pages for months, and now she's starting to "read" (babble as she looks at the pages) to herself. Books soothe her as much as her favorite stuffed animal when she's upset.

*beaming with pride*

A good habit to start young.

B&N had children's book readings when Christopher was the right age to enjoy them. Hopefully they'll still be around for your goddaughter.
