Five or six years ago my FIL was given 12 hours to live. It looks like that 12 hours may be nearly up. It's interesting what a bottomless well grief is. We've been so lucky with my FIL, how many people get extra YEARS with their loved one? Isn't making it much easier to let go now though. I'm sure it will be a comfort later. At least he lived long enough that our kiddos got to know him and will be able to remember him well.

Thank you. Both my husband and I lost our moms when we were young so we've faced this kind of loss before. It just never gets any easier. I'm sorry about your best friend's father.
