the part of palmette is very beautiful. It's incredible how colour survived for more than two thousand years; it looks like it was pointed yesterday.

I saw so wonderfully preserved colour only once, in Olvia (excavated Greek city in Crimea, Black sea). It was a couple of small vases (like for perfume), but the colour still glistered like it was just taken from oven, it was absolutely unbelievable!

The two round things under the palmette, do they signify anything?
