I just got all geared up for a long bike ride, and it started raining. i'll just sit here and wait, because this is portland, and the weather is bound to change within the next 20 minutes

Hold the peg in while you tighten it, that should do the trick. If not, you might have to get either a new peg or a new saddle.

hmm. i tried holding it in and that didn't seem to work. it would stay in for a bit, but then if i tightened the string without holding it, it flies out. the guitar was brand new when i got it, and it's gotten very little use, so i'd hate to have to do something like replace the saddle. but maybe a new peg would do the trick. i may take it to a shop one of these days to see what they have to say.
