Genre: Romance, Friendship

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters in this story. I don't make profit with this.
Summary: People care for each other, if they like someone.
A/N: English isn't my mother tongue, but I lived in the UK for quite a time, so I basically write and speak well. You're welcome to correct any mistakes, though. Of course.

Hahaha. It's TegoKame (... KameTego... what could we call them, actually? XD)!!! Woooooh~ I am a bit, just slightly obsessed with them lately. They make such a cute pairing. Don't they? ♥ However, don't be afraid, I am not tossing my pairings around and come up with some Massu x Jin next... I guess I can't bring myself to something like that XDDDDD

However, without giving away any details of a shameful past.... Happy Valentine's Day, Kao ♥ I couldn't get around to give you something as I usually do for Valentine's, so this must do for this year <3

Have fun reading, it's just short, though ^^;;

Take Good Care

The morning was rather calm.

Kazuya had worked all night, shooting scenes for the drama together with Aya. He hadn’t slept a lot, only for about three hours and felt quite exhausted.

Whenever he was in a drama, he thought to himself, he didn’t sleep much and everything to him was about work. He’d get into his role, he’d somehow loose himself in it and only at times like these, when he was all alone and tired, he would calm down and find back to his own self.

Then he would start thinking like Kazuya again, would loosen up all tension in him he needed to keep up any mask, any behaviour he told himself to put on.

Closing his eyes, Kazuya slid into a lying position on the couch in the off-set area.

No one was there yet, so he’d take the left minutes to enjoy the calmness, the silence and sleep off the stress.

It didn’t last a minute, though, until the door opened and Tegoshi came in with a tiredly mumbled: “Morning.”

Kazuya lifted his head and looked at him. “What are you doing here already?”

“I had training and figured going back home would be a waste of time.” Tegoshi made Kazuya shift his legs, so he could sit down.

He wore sunglasses - for whatever reason; Kazuya didn’t know, since it was winter. His hair was messy and he smelled of shampoo and soap, as if he’d just showered.

“How did training go?”

Tegoshi looked at him with a smile, as he took off the glasses and put them into his brown leather bag. “It was fine. We’re having a game next week, and we need to win or we’ll be out of league for this year.”

“Then you better win”, Kazuya said and shifted his head at the arm rest, closing his eyes again. “Otherwise it’ll be a pain again to have you around.”

“What…”

“No.” Kazuya didn’t even open his eyes. “It took you more than a week to get over your failures from Tokyo Friend Park.”

“Don’t remind me of that”, Tegoshi said in a sulking voice.

“You’re such a bad looser.”

“What’s wrong about that?”

Kazuya shrugged his shoulder and took a deep breath. “You can’t always win.”

Tegoshi looked at Kazuya’s face, saw that small frown between his eyebrows. Kazuya knew that too well. “As for sports, you can.”

A smile spread over the older one’s face and Tegoshi smiled as well, leaning back. “However. Why are you here that early?”

“I worked late and if I sleep longer than three hours, I am too tired over the day.”

“Then don’t sleep now.”

Kazuya opened one eye to glance at Tegoshi. “This is napping.”

Tegoshi laughed. “Ah, I see, that’s a complete difference, of course.”

The door opened again and staff members came in. Kazuya sat up and sighed. “Doesn’t matter, anyway, I won’t get around to nap, as it seems.”

Tegoshi’s look followed Kazuya, as the older one left to the mask. He sighed a bit, before he felt a pat on his shoulder, seeing Uchi greeting him.

The youngest was slightly worried about Kazuya.

He always looked very tired lately and even though, he never let anyone notice when he was sad or troubled, Tegoshi had noticed that something was off.

You can’t always win, he remembered Kazuya’s words and looked at his hands.

Kazuya had experienced that way too often by now. He was struggling so much, so hard to fight on and Tegoshi knew what it was like.

Once, Kazuya had been invisible and now he was that perfect idol, had so much success.

It always had another side of the coin to it. There always was a part of his success that didn’t make it all just pleasant and enjoyable to work as hard as he did.

He pretty much got to see the other side with such huge impact, as well.

Tegoshi smiled, as Seishiro tugged his sleeve. “Tegoshi-kun, don’t be lazy.”

Laughing, Tegoshi got up. “Sorry, Sei-chan, I spaced out, huh?” He got down to crouch in front of the child and got close to his face, looking into his eyes. “How did it go today?”

Seishiro bit his lip to hold back a huge grin.

He had only told Tegoshi about it; that he had hoped for chocolate from a girl from his class. They lived next door and met every morning, going to school together.

To Tegoshi - being the romanticist he was - it had been the sweetest love story, so he had supported Seishiro. But since this day wasn’t a usual school day, it had been difficult to get them to meet each other, so Tegoshi had thought up a plan with the boy.  “Did you meet her this morning?”

Seishiro nodded enthusiastically. “It just went as you predicted.” He buried his hand in his pocket and got out a small heart-shaped chocolate in red wrapping.

Tegoshi smiled at him widely and bounced at his feet. “Did she accept your chocolate, too?”

“She was very happy about it!” The kid bowed to Tegoshi. “Thank you very much.”

Patting Seishiro’s head, Tegoshi shook his own. “Not at all. I am very happy for you.”

“What is this about?” Miyao came into the room and lifted Seishiro up, making him laugh. “What are you two whispering?”

“Secret!” Seishiro cried out in laughter, as Miyao started tickling him and Tegoshi laughed, shaking his head at the older man.

“I won’t tell it, either.”

He still felt happy, as they had a break later that day, after dinner already. It had made it easier to act out his role, actually, as he had filmed a scene with Aya.

She waved at him, as she was ready to leave and with a “Good work” Tegoshi bit her goodbye for the day.

Working all day, he noticed then, had kept him from spending Valentine’s in any special way. It was not like he’d had anyone to spend it with, in the first place, but still, Tegoshi liked the day, actually.

People should always look at each other, in his mind, but if they needed a special occasion to do so, it was okay, too. As long as they showed some care and love.

He yawned, as he sat on the couch in the living room of the set, looking for his throat candy in his bag. He looked up, as Kazuya sat down next to him and stopped his movements.

People should show care and love that day, Tegoshi reminded himself and blinked at Kazuya.

“What is it?” The older one touched his cheek. “Anything wrong with my face?”

“How about a nap”, Tegoshi asked.

“Huh?” Kazuya looked puzzled.

“Are you still tired?”

“I…” He tried to find words, since he didn’t actually know what Tegoshi was talking about.

“You know, I don’t have chocolate, but these are really sweet.” The younger one pulled out something that looked like a bonbon, round-shaped like a ball and wrapped in yellow. “They are made of honey.”

“Aha?” Kazuya frowned.

“Here”, Tegoshi said with a sweet smile and took Kazuya’s hand, putting the candy to his palm. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

Kazuya didn’t even blush, as he looked up from his hand to Tegoshi’s face; he was too puzzled. “Tegoshi, what’s that about?”

“I really like you, Kamenashi-kun, so I thought you deserve this.” Tegoshi shrugged a shoulder. “I heard there are things like ‘friendship chocolate’ for Valentine’s these days, so this is one of those.”

“Friends”, Kazuya repeated with a slight smile and looked at the candy again. “Thanks”, he said then and looked back at Tegoshi. “There’s half an hour until we go on. I actually am up for a nap.”

Tegoshi smiled widely and shifted to position himself, then he patted his thighs. “Make yourself comfortable.”

Kazuya put his head down and lying on his back, he looked at the ceiling for a moment, then he shifted his look to Tegoshi’s face and smiled, before he closed his eyes.

“This is actually quite comfortable.”

“I made the same experience.”

Kazuya released a slight laugh. “I heard of that.”

Grinning, Tegoshi leaned his elbow onto the armrest of the couch, supporting his head. He ran his other hand through Kazuya’s hair.

“You know, you need to relax every once in a while.”

“I do relax a lot.”

“Yeah, sure”, Tegoshi answered and smiled to himself, as Kazuya just poked out his tongue at him. “I will take care of that from now on.”

Kazuya blinked his eyes open. “You want to take care of me?”

“That’s what people do when they like someone.”

For a moment, Kazuya didn’t answer, then he closed his eyes again. “In that case, I will have to take of care you, too, I suppose.”

“Sounds just fair”, Tegoshi answered in a cheery way.

“Why do I know already I’m going to have a much harder job than you?” Kazuya tilted his head, his eyes still closed.

Tegoshi kept stroking through Kazuya’s hair and grinned at that; waited a bit, let silence sink in, before he said: “That’s because you can take so much more than anyone else, it seems.”

Kazuya didn’t answer anymore to that; his expression peaceful as he had sunken into sleep. His hands were folded over his stomach, his hair spread over Tegoshi’s thigh and his legs crossed over the armrest at the other end of the couch.

He was completely relaxed and Tegoshi smiled, watching him and keeping his fingers running through Kazuya’s hair.

If this was all he needed to do, then he’d have it easy.
