Things had got better between them since Christmas. It was just a few days later that they were all participating in the Starship Countdown. As Juniors they had a lot to practice, because even if they weren’t most important that night they were part of the show and made it complete.

It was just two days left until New Year and that evening they were off, because their Sempais were doing the last rehearsals for the upcoming night.

But it was already evening when they were told that they were allowed to leave.

“I don’t know what to do tonight!”

Nakamaru raised his head as he stripped off his shirt and looked at Ueda. “Would you like to go out?”

Ueda pouted as he got his bag and sat down at a bench in the changing room, crossing his long legs. “Anything is better than to stay in the hotel.”

“Then let’s do something together!”

The blonde sighed. “You and me?”

Nakamaru hesitated to answer, he just nodded slightly.

The others pretended--- as usual--- not to listen, not to notice and just went on to get changed quickly to leave.

“Why not?” Ueda finally said and got up from the bench and walked over to the door. “It’s better than to do nothing.”

It didn’t take long until Nakamaru had changed as well and ran after him.

Kazuya threw him a sorrowful look as he left and sighed a bit. The others didn’t give any reaction to it; they just went on with doing what they were doing.

After a while it was just Kazuya and Jin left. Kazuya was already finished and just waited for Jin, so that they could leave together. They both had no plans for the evening and would probably stay in their rooms in the hotel.

As the door opened he raised his head and recognized Yamashita coming in. “Hey, Jin.” He greeted and remained standing in the door frame. “Ryo-chan asked me whether I would like to go out, but I think it’s boring; just the two of us. You wanna join us?”

Jin automatically looked at Kazuya, his gaze asking whether the brunette was in the mood to go out and it made him smile. Kazuya wasn’t sure if Yamashita had really meant both of them or just Jin. But Jin naturally thought that if he went, Kazuya would go as well. As if they belonged together.

So the younger male just nodded slightly. “Would be nice.”

“Cool thing.” Yamashita said and turned around. “We’ll wait for you at the exit.”

Jin waved him off and then got his things packed to get ready to leave. “Let’s go?” He asked and went to the door.

As he opened it, he saw some people at the corridor; they were still busy out there to prepare everything for the next day.

“Ah, the juniors can already leave, huh?” Someone said and Jin and Kazuya turned around.

“When I’ve been a junior…” Matsumoto Jun said and stopped as Ninomiya pushed him to the door to their changing room. “Go on, Jun-kun.”

“Brat.” Jun just said and went into the room. Ninomiya gave them an excusing smile and waved a bit, then went in as well.

“So arrogant…”, was everything Jin could say as they turned to the exit.

“But I think Ninomiya-san is really nice.”

“They are all really nice, except for that one.”

The brunette laughed and imitated Jun’s voice. “When I’ve been a junior…”

“… you could get into Johnny’s without having a special talent, yeah.” Jin finished the sentence and they both laughed.

“What’s so funny?” Yamashita asked and tilted his head.

Jin shook his head and he and Kazuya just grinned at each other. “Nothing.” They answered in sync.

“Let’s go then.” Nishikido said and opened the door for them.

They’ve known the other two for a while now and got along very well, though Jin was the one who knew them a little bit better than Kazuya.

They went to a little bar together and Kazuya threw a nervous look at Jin when they entered the building. “A bar? What if anybody spots us here?”

Nishikido turned around and smiled an innocent and convincing smile at the brunette. “Let’s have just a little bit fun together, no one will ever find out.”

“I don’t know…..” Kazuya fidgeted with his scarf instead of taking it off.

So Jin turned to him and did it for him. “It’s okay, Kame, calm down.”

The younger one wasn’t sure why Jin was so calm about it-they all knew it was against the rules, didn’t they?

But Nishikido had already ordered something for them, before he could do anything about it, so he just sat down and looked around.

It wasn’t a dark bar, more relaxing and warm. No one looked at them, not anyone seemed interested in the four guys at the table in the corner.

A waitress brought them beer and from her look he could tell she didn’t recognize them at all. After all they were just Juniors.

“Kampai!!” Nishikido raised his glass and the other three cheered as well. Jin put his glass down after he drank and leaned forwards to Yamashita and they started to talk about things they had done together earlier. Soon Nishikido joined in and they were laughing about this and that.

Kazuya nipped on his beer a watched Jin for a while. He hadn’t been with him on those days, so he couldn’t participate in their conversation. He just listened and sometimes drifted off in his thoughts.

When he thought about it he hadn’t known that Jin was so close with the other two, especially Yamapi. They were nice and it wasn’t the first time they did something together. But Kazuya would have assumed they were not really friends, just some people they knew and liked better.

But it seemed for Jin they were really good friends.

Almost an hour passed by and they had already ordered the third round. Kazuya’s glass was the only one that was empty again and he suddenly spoke up. “Ne…”

Jin automatically turned his head, because that was how Kazuya usually started when he wanted to tell Jin something.

“I think Maru has a crush on Tat-chan.”

For about five seconds the other three just stared at him, then Jin repeated: “Tat-chan?” Usually Kazuya didn’t call him that.

With a serious look the brunette nodded. “Yes. Maru. On Tat-chan.”

“Since when do you call him Tat-chan?”

“Since….” Kazuya thought about that for a moment. “I think, since now.” He leaned back in his chair. “However, I think we should really help them.”

“Don’t tell me, he is drunk…” Nishikido said with a panicking look in his eyes. “It was just three glasses!”

Jin just stared at Kazuya as he leaned forwards and grinned at the older one in front of him while he was raising his glass. “And I need a fourth one.”

“Certainly not.” Yamashita just said.

“Why not?” Kazuya pouted and tried to stand up, obviously struggling to do so.

Jin took grip of his hand and pulled him back to his chair. “Kame.” He hissed and threw him a look. “Don’t be so remarkable… people are going to notice you.”

“We’ll better get him back to the hotel.” Nishikido said and Jin nodded.

“Best is without anyone noticing us. If we get caught because of him…” Yamashita started, but Jin shook his hand. “I’ll take care of him.”

They paid and Jin managed to get Kazuya out of the bar without anybody paying attention to them. He sighed in relief when they were outside. Luckily their hotel was just a few minutes away and so it didn’t take long until they were back. Jin tugged Kazuya to the lift, followed by Yamashita and Nishikido. No one was around and the blonde hurried to get to his room-he took Kazuya there since it was closer to the lift.

“I didn’t know he would get drunk so easily…” Nishikido apologized to Jin and looked worried at Kazuya who was leaning against Jin, his head resting at the taller boy’s shoulder. Jin didn’t even notice that he had been holding Kazuya’s hand all the time.

“No, it’s my fault. I should have known… We should not have done that, as Kame said, it’s against the rules and this could get us into trouble. Hopefully no one saw us…”

Yamashita nodded and patted the younger one’s head. “I hope he’s not feeling too bad tomorrow.”

With that they both left and Jin tugged Kazuya into his room. “Let’s lie down, Kame.”

“Hmm…” The brunette mumbled and held on tighter to the other one. “You like Yamapi, ne~?”

“Eh?” Jin just answered confused. He shook his head and took off Kazuya’s shoes. “Of course, we’re friends.”

“You like him more than you like me.”

Jin’s hands stopped and he stared at the drunken one.

“You like me as a friend, but you like him… you like him… like…” Kazuya murmured and blushed, then he looked away, rubbing his forehead.

“You’re really drunk.” The blonde just answered and sat down at the edge of the bed. His heart was pounding painfully hard in his chest. Was Kazuya jealous of Yamapi? Did Kazuya want to be liked by Jin like that? Or did he just say those things because he was drunk?

However, he didn’t have much more time to think about it as Kazuya suddenly sat up and looked at him with those eyes. He knew the other one was fighting with himself; he knew that look in those eyes. And suddenly Kazuya was leaning forwards and in expectation of feeling those lips on his own in a second Jin wasn’t able to move.

But the smaller one just leaned heavily against him. He could feel his eyelids slipping shut, but refused to close them. “Jin…” He whispered and wrapped his arms loosely around the other male’s shoulders.

Jin couldn’t refuse to put his arms around the slender waist and gently pull Kazuya closer. His heartbeat had gone even faster than before and he gently rubbed his thumb over the small of Kazuya’s back.

“You’d better go to sleep, Kazuya.”

“But…” The younger one gave him a look and rested back down then, his head at Jin’s chest, feeling warm and fuzzy from the alcohol, but also from the embrace. “I want to stay up with you… spend more time with you…”

Jin sighed slightly and let his hand softly stroke over the other one’s back. “It’s okay, you need to sleep. Tomorrow’s going to be a hard day for you.”

Kazuya pressed closer, shutting his eyes. “Don’t go. Be here when I wake up.”

Jin’s breath hitched and he felt himself shaking a bit. “Sure.”

“Promise, Jin…” With a happy smile Kazuya drifted off and Jin held him for a little longer, then he slipped out of the brunette’s embrace and from the bed.

He pulled the blankets over him, before he looked at the beautiful face again and felt his heart breaking.

It wasn’t real; it wasn’t what Kazuya really wanted. He was just drunk.

Slowly he picked up Kazuya’s keys to leave to his room and get some sleep there.

Jin was sure the younger one wouldn’t remember his broken promise in the morning.

Kazuya woke up and felt like his head was going to explode. He sighed heavily as he was finally able to open his eyes and shut them again after two seconds. The sunlight was too hurting.

He sat up and rubbed his head, whimpering a little. He noticed that he still wore his clothes, then he opened his eyes slowly again and saw that it wasn’t his room.

He panicked first, but after a moment he noticed that all those things in the room were familiar to him.

They belonged to Jin.

Kazuya lowered his gaze to the sheets and pressed his lips together as his memories came back.

He could remember every detail of the last night. He should have known it would end like that as they entered the bar. He really should have known it.

But to see Jin like that with Yamapi, the way those two interacted… he had really gone completely jealous and hadn’t been thinking about getting drunk. It had made him feel better.

Hiding his face in his hands he sighed and whined even more. He’d been so stupid.

As someone knocked the door he panicked again and just wanted to hide beneath the blankets. What if someone saw him in Jin’s bed?

But it was the blonde who opened the door. “Kame, are you awake?”

The younger one threw him an embarrassed look and nodded.

“How are you feeling?”

“It’s okay.” He lied.

Jin just sighed. “Idiot, you should have told me that you can’t stand alcohol, we would not have given you some then.”

Kazuya just stared at the blankets.

“Whatever, we’ll leave in thirty minutes, you’d better get ready.”

Again Kazuya just nodded and got out of the bed. He raised his head, a hurt look in his eyes.

Jin looked back at him and suddenly had to swallow thickly. “I’m.. I’ll be waiting in your room.” He said and quickly left the room.

After he had closed the door behind him he heavily leaned against it and sighed silently. That look had said everything.

Kazuya remembered perfectly what had happened last night.
