038.Dance

Tegoshi looked at Subaru and tried to mimic his steps.

It was difficult, actually, since he wasn’t the born dancer and usually, Masuda would help him out if he had problems with their choreography. But Masuda wasn’t here, obviously, so he had to rely on other people.

As someone took hold of his waist from behind him, Tegoshi jumped slightly, then, he turned his head and looked at Kazuya.

“Just…”, Kazuya said quietly and guided Tegoshi’s moves, giving him a gentle smile. “Like this.”

Tegoshi nodded and for a while, they repeated it over and over, then, Tegoshi did it on his own and it worked out well.

“You’ve had problems with that part from the beginning, right?”

Tegoshi nodded and sighed. “I’m sorry.”

Kazuya shook his head. “I think you were a bit out of practise, weren’t you?”

“Tegomass is not dancing much, actually.”

“You should do more as NEWS then.”

Tegoshi laughed it off and sat down, next to Kazuya. “Tegomass probably feels more comfortable.”

Blinking, the older boy tilted his head. “Because you just focus on singing then?”

“I’m not good in memorizing steps and such.”

“Well, but when you work hard for it, you can do it, don’t you?”

“I’m not bad then; but I’m the one who’s off most.”

“And I bet it’s Yamapi who is scolding you, huh?”

Tegoshi just nodded.

“Ah, what a pity. Since you’re so in love with him.”

Tegoshi pouted and frowned at Kazuya. “I’m not.”

“You still adore him, don’t you?”

Shrugging a shoulder, the younger one looked back at the ground. “I’m kind of looking up to him, yeah.”

“You wouldn’t want to be scolded by that person.” Kazuya stood up and clapped his hands.

“It’s fine if he does”, Tegoshi just answers. “He’s the only one who actually dares. Everyone else just dotes on me.”

Kazuya laughed and patted the younger one’s head. “And you enjoy that, don’t you?”

A grin formed in Tegoshi’s face and he got back to his feet, too. “I know to use it.”

They continued practice and later, when Tegoshi was back in his hotel, it still felt too early to actually go to bed, but he also wasn’t in the mood to go out.

So, he just lay on his bed for a while and that conversation he had with Kazuya came back to his mind, reminding him of a few things.

He gripped his mobile phone from his night stand and waited for a moment, listening to the ringing sound at the other end of the line.

“Yuya?”

He smiled, as he heard Masuda’s voice.

“Hey, Massu”, Tegoshi said softly and closed his eyes. “It’s good to hear your voice.”

The other boy laughed slightly. “It’s good to hear yours. Do you miss me?”

“Each day a bit more.”

“How is it going? Everything’s good over at Osaka?”

“Um”, Tegoshi just answered and rolled to his side. “I’m having a few problems with the choreography, but it’ll be fine.”

“You’ll get them right, don’t worry”, Masuda assured him.

“It’d be easier if Massu would teach me.”

“I don’t even know them, Yuya.”

“You’d quickly learn them; they are not that difficult.”

“Listen to your talking”, Masuda giggled. “So, if they aren’t, how come you are so troubled with them?”

Tegoshi kept silent. “I’ll get them, in the end.”

“I’m sure you will.”

Tegoshi closed his eyes again, curled up into a small ball on his bed and took a deep breath. “Talk for a little longer, Massu. What did you do today?”

“We started rehearsals for the stage play. It’s really fun. We shoot the promotional pictures and when they gave me an umbrella I had to think of you. It’s been a while since then, I thought. Next time, it rains, I’ll pick you up and we’ll share an umbrella again, I thought. But then, it’ll really be impossible.”

“But it sounds nice.”

For a moment, it remained silent between them, then Masuda went on: “Then, I was shopping with Nakamaru. He invited me for dinner, it was very nice. Next time, he said, he’d bring Koki along, so I said I would invite you, too. You get along with Koki, don’t you?”

As he didn’t get an answer, Masuda just said Tegoshi’s name a few times, then he laughed slightly.

“Good night, Yuya”, he murmured and hung up.

Tegoshi was nuzzling deeper into his pillow, the mobile sliding from his hand, as he murmured Masuda’s name in his sleep.
