020.Family
“Yuya, eat up.”
“Grandma”, Tegoshi said and pointed at the plate in front of him. “I can’t possibly eat all this.”
“It’s healthy for you”, she pointed out and gripped his upper arms, squeezing it with her slim, bony fingers. “Look, how much weight you lost.”
“I didn’t lose that much.”
She sighed and looked at him with sorrowful eyes. “Your face looks so small and bony.”
“Grandma.” Tegoshi’s voice turned slightly annoyed.
“I’m just pointing out the truth. Right, Masuda-kun”, she asked then and turned to Masuda, who was sitting to her other side, quietly eating.
He looked up and nodded. “He did lose quite some weight, indeed.”
Tegoshi threw him a glare behind his grandmother’s back and got a smack on the head from his father for that.
Masuda laughed slightly and took another bite.
“Masuda-kun is a healthy boy, Yuya”, his grandmother went on. “Look, he eats properly and his cheeks are full and round. Like yours were.”
“Mom, tell her I looked chubby.”
His mother laughed slightly and shook her head. “You’ve never been chubby, Yuya.”
“I was!” Tegoshi eyed his plate again, sighing. “If I eat all this, all the training I did today was in vain.”
“You don’t need any training”, his mother told him and sat down again, placing a bowl of pudding in the middle of the table. “You can eat whatever you want.”
Tegoshi decided to just shut up and do as they wished, eat a bit from everything his mother and grandmother had cooked.
They always got so overly excited when he said he’d bring a friend, making a fuss about it. He brought friends quite often; after soccer training or when they’d been out to karaoke.
But bringing Masuda was special, and for some odd reason his mother seemed to know that.
“Masuda-kun, do you want some more”, she asked now with a gentle smile and Tegoshi saw how Masuda shook his head, bowing slightly.
“No, thanks. It was very delicious.”
“You should come and visit Yuya more often.”
“Ah, I’m sorry for intruding like this”, he said politely and glanced at Tegoshi quickly, then thanked his grandmother, as she handed him a small bowl of pudding.
Tegoshi endured it, ate up his pudding, waited for everyone to finish, before he got up from the table and excused him and Masuda.
They hurried out of the kitchen and to his room; Tegoshi sighed in relief, as he closed the door behind himself.
“They love you.”
Masuda lifted an eyebrow and tilted his head.
“Whenever you come visit me, they make this fuss, cook like there no tomorrow and treat you like you’re part of this family.”
Masuda laughed and sat down at Tegoshi’s bed. “You’re exaggerating.”
“No, really.” Tegoshi took the spot next to him. “We never eat together like this, usually.”
“That’s just normal when you have a guest, I guess.”
“My other friends are not treated like you.”
Masuda smiled and leaned in, taking a brief kiss from Tegoshi. “Well, after all, I am special.”
Tegoshi grinned. “As I’ve said, they love you.”
“That makes things easier for us, doesn’t it?”
Tegoshi wanted to point out that with them dating nothing was easy in the first place, but he decided it would ruin the mood if he said that now, so he kept quiet and just shyly kissed Masuda again.
It still was a little awkward; they had just started all this, had not been together like this for long, but it still felt really good, in a way.
Masuda took hold of his waist and pulled Tegoshi closer to his chest, grinning at his lips suddenly.
“I could tell your grandma just how much weight you lost exactly, but I guess that would expose us then.”
Tegoshi giggled, shook his head. “You better don’t.”

I'm sorry for not replying to comments yet, weekend was a whole lot of busy work. I worked all friday and saturday night and I'm still not quite discovered from my cold yet, so I took all free time I had to sleep.
