“You know, I didn’t think they’d look like this, when you brought up the idea.”
Tegoshi eyed the two huge balloons in front of him; one in pink and one in yellow.
“What’s wrong with them?” Masuda frowned, looking closer at them to find the problem. “Pink for you, yellow for me, just like I said, right?”
“It’s not the colour”, Tegoshi agreed and shook his head. “They’re just really… huge.”
“Ah”, Masuda said and his face light up. “But that’s what is funny about them, isn’t it?”
They stood backstage and their concert would begin in a few hours, so, they were practising the last few things, checking settings, getting dressed.
Everything was rather busy.
That’s when Tegoshi had suddenly crossed the balloons, kept in a corner of the backstage area. He had searched for Masuda, finding him doing push ups in the changing room.
Now, they stood side by side, watching the two huge balloons.
“I actually thought of something smaller. Many, many, small balloons the fans could push around”, Tegoshi threw in.
Masuda thought about that for a moment. “But look, you can throw these around, too.”
“I’m not sure I can.”
Masuda’s expression got soft and he took the pink one, lifting it easily. “Don’t be fooled by their size, Yuya. Come on, you’ll see you easily push it back to me.”
Tegoshi frowned slightly, but he nodded, waiting for Masuda to throw it. When he did, Tegoshi took it with both hands, but it didn’t really matter, since in the moment he touched it, he was pushed down and the balloon bounced from him to the side over to the other wall.
“Oh, crap”, Masuda mumbled under his breath and rushed over. “Are you okay, Yuya?”
Tegoshi just kept lying on his back and stared up at Masuda. “They are too huge.”
Masuda chuckled in amusement, running a hand over Tegoshi’s hair. “Sorry.”
“Just… you’ll take care of them during the live. I don’t want them near me.”
Masuda nodded and helped Tegoshi up then, both of them ignoring the balloon then. “I thought they were cool. But it seems you’re too…”
“Don’t even finish that”, Tegoshi said, pouting. “I was knocked down by a balloon.”
Masuda chuckled again, before he laughed, holding his waist. “The sight was so funny.”
Tegoshi rolled his eyes and sighed.
“Just imagine how it could throw you off the zou-san during the concert; that would look so hilarious.”
“Massu.”
“Or it could come your direction and you hold out your hands to let it bounce off and then, you just fall over and…”
“Massu!” Tegoshi made him go silence with that and as Masuda just chuckled further behind the hand he had lifted to cover his mouth, Tegoshi gave up.
“You just better keep those monsters away from me during the live.”
“I’m not sure yet. The fans should have some of the fun, too”, Masuda pointed out.
“Ah, so?” Tegoshi lifted a brow, before he turned to walk back to their changing room. “In that case, you surely won’t mind sleeping in your own hotel room tonight.”
Masuda needed a moment to process that; he blinked his eyes and watched Tegoshi leaving. Then, he followed, changing his mind in an instant.
“Well, I think I could manage to keep them away from you.”
Tegoshi peeked over his shoulder, smiling satisfied. “See. I knew you could.”
Masuda bit his lip, but couldn’t hold back teasing Tegoshi.
“They’re not that difficult to handle, after all.”

You may remember that Tegoshi didn't look that comfortable with those huge balloons during the concert DVD.... *lol*
