A/N: English isn't my mother tongue, but I've been living in the UK for quite a time, so I basically write and speak well. You're welcome to correct any mistakes, though. Of course.

This is a request taht had been made almost a year ago. I've wanted to have it finished by July 26th as it is meant for norilys ' birthday, but I couldn't make it in time, as my greatest muse left this world. So, I am sorry, dear, that this is so late, but I eventually made it.
Happy belated birthday ♥

As You Like

“Excuse me, Sir. Would you please follow me?”

Subaru put down the magazine he was reading in and looked at the young woman standing in front of him, pointing into the room. He put the magazine down and got up, following her.

She guided him to a seat in front of a mirror and told him to have a bit more patience. He nodded his head and looked at his surroundings.

Had he known that this shop was so busy, he would have gone another day or even to another one. But Ryo had recommended it to him and Ryo’s hair always looked so nice.

“Call them and ask for an appointment with Yasuda”, Ryo had told him. “He’s the best and he’ll cut your hair perfectly.”

He looked into the mirror again, as he heard a voice behind him say “Welcome” in a cheerful manner. What he saw in the reflection behind his own, was a man with blonde hair, curls and an outfit in all bright colours. His smile was bright and outstanding.

“I’m Yasuda”, the guy said and leaned in, putting his hands to Subaru’s shoulders. “What am I going to do for you today?”

“I’m...” Subaru saw the expression in his own face - obviously shocked and terrified. He had planned to say “Cut it as you like”, but at the moment, he wasn’t too sure he wanted that anymore.

“Ah, you don’t know?” Yasuda rose again and looked at Subaru’s reflection in the mirror with thoughtful eyes.

“Just...”, Subaru pushed himself to get the words out, “cut it as you like.”

Yasuda’s face lit up and he ran his hands through Subaru’s hair. “I have a great idea already!”

Trust, Subaru told himself, as he noticed Yasuda had his nails painted each in a different colour. If that guy wasn’t trustworthy, then this place wouldn’t be so popular.

He came back with some equipment and adjusted a cape around Subaru’s neck, tucking a towel in then. “We’re going to wash your hair first”, Yasuda explained. “So, if you’d like to follow me, please.”

Subaru got up and frowned slightly, as he was asked to lean back in a chair and put his head into a basin. He heard water running, before it gently hit his head.

“Is the temperature okay?”

Subaru just nodded.

Then, fingers ran into his hair and gently massaged, soothingly stroke over his scalp. He wanted to close his eyes - it felt just so good. That guy actually had some really skilful fingers.

Yasuda massaged in shampoo, rinsed it, before he told Subaru to relax and started to work in a conditioner. Subaru did as he was told and this time, really closed his eyes, as Yasuda slowly ran his fingers through the dark hair, worked in the soft texture of the milky fluid. He felt like falling asleep, being treated so well by those hands.

When it stopped and water gently ran over his hair, he opened his eyes, feeling all relaxed and sleepy. Yasuda guided him back to his seat in front of the mirror and took off the towel, gently rubbing his hair, until it was damp.

“I’m just going to cut a bit and I wouldn’t do anything to that beautiful colour”, Yasuda explained. “Only, if you want that.”

Subaru shook his head. “Do whatever you think is best.”

“Then, we’ll keep it simple”, Yasuda decided and took out a comb, combing the raven hair slowly and carefully.

Subaru kept watching him in the mirror. By now he felt a lot more comfortable and less suspicious about Yasuda. He apparently knew what he was doing.

“So, Subaru-san, you are a friend of Ryo’s?”

Subaru actually hated to talk, when he was at the hair dresser’s. He preferred silently watching them doing their job and leave again. But, apparently, this guy wanted to talk.

“Yes, we’re working together.”

“He’s coming here regularly, talking about the company he works in”, Yasuda chitchatted. “He likes it there.”

Subaru nodded, watched Yasuda getting scissors out. “It’s more like working with friends. We’re a small place.”

They kept on talking, Yasuda didn’t seem to have problems doing both - work and talk. At times, Subaru was afraid he would lose focus, but for Yasuda it all seemed natural, he just cut away, while he cheerfully talked to Subaru.

Only when he was finished and got out a blow-dryer, Subaru noticed that time had flown by. Talking to Yasuda had been rather pleasant.

Yasuda applied some cream to his hair and worked it in, before he blow-dried it. When he finished, Subaru moved his head from one side to the other, looking at the outcome.

He had the feeling, Yasuda hadn’t done much, yet, it looked really different from before.

“Are you satisfied?”

Subaru nodded. “Yes, very.”

Yasuda beamed at him in that child-like manner of his. “Thank you!”

Subaru followed him to the counter and paid, before he got his jacket.

“Please come again”, Yasuda said, as he walked Subaru to the door.

He stopped for a moment, as he stood in the doorframe and looked at Yasuda, before he quietly said: “I will.”

He’d go to the hair-dresser on a regular basis from now on, too, Subaru thought, as he left.

Even, if it just was to see Yasuda again.
