Just so I don't look like I'm completely lazy...

I am working on Elphaba's big canon write-up, of both her book and musical canons. It's taking so long because I'm actually including book scenes and pictures, as well as in-depth canon relationship lists for both, and uploading songs and a video clip. Joy.

I figured she should have some post here in the meantime (because her journal looks so very ( Read more... )

Ha ha, I'm only going to acknowledge your musical canon because I refuse to read the book on the principle that it sounds depressing. XP

Also, my roommate wants to know if you've picked up the sequel.

But the book is incredible - seriously probably my favorite book ever. It's better than the musical (although I also love the musical dearly, oh!). And the characters are better in it.

I picked up the sequel a week before it was released, hah.

But is it depressing?

Some parts, yes. She leads a hard life. The ending parts are very depressing. The thing is, though, that it's completely worth it. And it's not all depressing, the first half of it isn't, anyway.

Besides, we get to cheat. We can thwart the depressiveness by listening to the musical, because the musical is way cheery. So it's not like you'd be stuck!

Also commenting because, gosh, I love your Elphaba and I haven't read Wicked, but strangely enough I read most of Maguire's other works including his short story on the scarecrow, go figure.

You have no idea how paranoid I get about how I'm playing her. So thank you - I'm really glad you like her.

......You know that that means, though. Go read Wicked!! (And listen to the songs and see the show, I know you're not a Broadway person but come on now XD)

I will, I will, once I get it at the library. And I like some Broadway. Just not Cats. Erk. 0_o

But, yes, your Elphaba rules.

Yay!

....I don't like Cats either, haha. And I assure you Wicked is nothing like Cats. If you ever get the chance to see it, do. Listening to it on the CD doesn't even come close.

Thank you so much.

I love your Elphaba. ^^;

The character has a special sort of significance to me 'cause my friend plays her in a cracked book fandom tabletop I run.

Whee
