God, how I hate technicalities. Furthermore, I hate status. I hate how everything is ushered into a general category, then is expected to follow those rules. Or maybe knitting. Assists in hand-eye coordination, plus you can make hats and socks to wear for the freezing miami winter. And scarves.
Crosswords? Mental stimulation... I think they can be fun and fulfilling. Gardening, if you have the space. Grow yummy food and herbs with which to chef.

i agree with knitting, i picked it up for winter and got to make relatively cheap heartfelt gifts for folks. i can make you one, you can make me one... it'll be fun.
scrapbooking? no, that's a little expensive, and you need to take pictures. redecorating... that's nice.
