What the hell do you need a semi-auto sniper rifle for? Seriously. Do you go hunting? If not, you shouldn't be carrying a gun like that.

Well it's not like I'd carry it strapped to my back.
There's a certain sport to accurate sniping from a distance that's hard to explain.

It's something like this... some guys get very fast cars. They then custom them to go faster. Then they proceed to make them very easy to see by putting on very shiny paint jobs and eye catching designs. However, a lot of them don't race at all. They just go to the track every now and then to see how fast the car goes.

In addition, it's more of a collectors item. Plus, having fun with a sniper rifle doesn't always have to lead to ending a life (whether animal or human). Besides... they also sell 50 caliber anti tank rifles. They are about the same price and I don't even dream of having one of those.

The sportscars are equally pointless. I mean, granted, at least with the gun I assume you'd go to a shooting range. Nevertheless... I have a problem with those sorts of guns being sold in random city gunshops, with only a week or two waiting period.

Pointless yes. But everyone needs a hobby.

Sniper rifles are kinda rare these days. But then again any long barrel rifle with a scope is technically a sniper rifle.

I also hate to say this... but in Washington we don't have a waiting period. Our FBI check is instant.
