Digital painting

Hmmm... I posted this on an SPN community, and I was disappointed that the picture got shrunk when it posted. It was not intended to be viewed so small. So this is just a value study of JA as Dean Winchester, painting practice, not too exciting, but displayed at the size I intended.

Thank you!! It must the layout default that shrinks it, ya? I didn't realize that would happen. I have a Sammy one that I am working on, so I guess I will link back here again. Thanks for your understanding.

HOLY CRAP. That is stunning. What medium do you use? Watercolors, oil, what? Whatever it is, that is absolutely breathtaking in detail~~ even if the subject matter itself was not so spectacular & easy on the eye, your technique, whatever it is, is gorgeous & I hope you're making money off your gift or at the very least getting good grades in some fantastic art school somewhere.

Thank you. This entirely digital, using a program called Corel Painter X, which mimics real life materials. Photoshop has brushes that can get you pretty close to this style as well. I paint for fun, and I used to paint with real paint... something I must get back to... very much like playing piano, you have to practice practice practice.
