Erin Pizzey's about as reputable a critic of feminists as is Phyllis Schlafly, Camille Paglia, Katie Roiphe, or Christina Hoff-Summers, who famously had to withdraw some of her work when her incredibly crappy cites came under deserved fire. Also? Citing the daily mail is like citing Faux News in the US: a conservative, reactionary publication. Not one that's going to be taken seriously.

Men are perfectly capable of forming shelters on their own. In the US, however, men demand that women accomodate them. Why don't they get off their asses and do what women had to do-----form shelters themselves, against the obstacles women faced? Why do they think women owe them anything?

Not heard of some of those names, but I would point out that Erin Pizzey actually won her case, unlike your contenders for the title.

Sorry about thesource, but it is a real quote from Pizzey herself.

you may want to look at this link, cited in Wiki - it is from another newspaper - the Scotsman.

Again, Pizzey tells us the same story - how her movement was hijacked by radicals.

As to the idea that men form their own shelters, I think that while this is sound, it's the State that has to meet this demand, not the women's movement.

I know it's a quote from her: I don't care. I reject her as any kind of reputable voice on feminism at all. Period. Fathers for life is also not reputable; they're an MRA group, devoted less to mens' rights---an interesting concept, because how do men deprive themselves of rights when men dominate the world?---than to bashing feminists.

The State did not help women when they needed help; that's precisely why women had to and still must form their own shelters. MRA groups such as those approved of by Pizzey are perfectly positioned to form shelters. They are not interested in that. What they're interested in is attacking women and womens' rights.

It is a myth to think that just because we both wear trousers that button up left over right, that George Bush and I dominate the world together.

let me point out a few essential differences - when he ran America, Bush had the power to declare war- I didn't.
he fixed it so that juicy tax cuts to all his mates. something else that me and millions of American guys missed out on.

I don't deny that GWB has awesome power, I just find it hard to believe that I have got the same as him.The State in the UK does not sem to move into action at my behest - and it isn't coz I never tried to get things done.

My take is that you need loatsa money and freinds in high places to get things moving. And even then it takes time somethimes. Dunno about you- but I have spent over 3 decades on this earth living as a blue collar guy, and I don't think its at all easy. Maybe we can compare notes.

I reject her as any kind of reputable voice on feminism at all. Period. Interesting thing ( ... )

Yeah, something else, or rather, two somethings----that video is by a guy who calls himself "The Happy Misogynist". Yeah...no. Strike one. Strike two is his insistence that women are half the problem in DV. Not true, but a certain type of 'activist' likes to claim this is some kind of suppressed truth. I can even trace it back but I suspect you don't care what's really going on here.
