I'm yet to look at the info you give, but it screams loud of pro-capitalist propaganda. If the true figures were shown, would the gap between rich and poor still show that in reality this gap is still larger than it was in times of Dickens sorry tales of impoverished London?
Too many "Charities" these days are throwing big expensive dinners "For charity" whereas in reality all they seem to be is "Jolly nights out" for the rich and end up being not fundraisers, but damned good methods of employment providers.
The gap between rich and poor nations is closing. the gap between rich and poor people in any society ? Well, that depends on the society.
My wife is curently supporting "Water Aid" and i think that clea water is a biggie. yo can survive for weeks without food, but only days without water. the problem in developing countries is that the water is not clean and drinkable. Apart from germs it also contains parasites. the solution is that parasites and other bugs can be killed by boiling - but that requieres fuel that many cannot afford. filters will take out many of them , but not all. however, if clean water can be installed, it's a big leap forwards , and slowly, village by village, we are getting this and other essential done.
