When I was in elementary school I was never the kid who had to search the lost and found for that brand new sweatshirt that already got misplaced or the dumpster for the thrown-away retainer. The holiday season is a lot different now that I'm not in school anymore. I'm used to doing nothing in the week leading up to and the week after Christmas. I'm going to Davis tomorrow to vote and give blood. I'm such a good citizen when I have nothing better to do.

I know I can't complain because I'm currently bumming around Switzerland while you all are in school or working, but I really wish I was in the Bay Area right now to see the A's continue crushing. Especially because someone has playoff tickets. Hopefully they'll be in the World Series when I get back on the 25th.

I'm leaving for Europe a week from tomorrow and it finally is starting to feel real. For me, big and exciting things like this only begin to feel like they are actually happening a few days before they really do.
