Though I prefer cats, the preference isn't overwhelming anymore for me like it used to be. I have a gay friend that won't bother a lick with cats. He much prefers dogs.

no idea. i'm more of a dog person myself anyways.
maybe we like our cats like our boys - the less attention we receive, the more we obsess over it/him?
but i, for one, am bothered by cats.
