aw, no, i didn't receive anything in my hotmail inbox. the jazz concert is the preservation hall jazz band, a pretty well known band from new orleans, and i'm very excited to go! i'm even more happy because i get to go for free (vs. $50) because my friend works at the winery it's being held at so she's sneaking me in. the downside is that the crowd will be the usual pretentious snobs of napa valley, but the location of the winary is beautiful and i'm sure it's going to be a lovely event.

oh by the way, since i know the existence of Berkeley, i can't stop seeing the word Berkeley anywhere (its always like that haha) : like, the other day i saw a record of Jimi Hendrix: Live in Berkeley, and yesterday i was reading Nick Hornby's Otherwise pandemonium and look: "my mom and i moved from L.a to Berkeley about 3 months ago(...) Berkeley's nice, i guess, but i didnt have any friends here, so Mom made me join this dumb jazz orchestra thing"

haha, i know! it's insane! there is so much to figure out/ network with to get it, but there is a possibility! i'll start really freaking out about it in a year.
hey, didn't you go to italy or some other fantastic place recently?
i actually might be able to see syl at the end of the summer in london! how remarkable is that?

awesome entry alana... For one thing, I love that Emily Dickenson poem... I wish I was there because you're closer to SF/Daly City than you were last summer... Popscene sounds fantastic- I haven't even thought of looking for cool dance clubs but I will definately check it out when I come home. Also glad you finally found a job/internship at a gallery (even though it's not paid). Send me your address- I still have that letter to you written on my cool stationary that I never got to put in your box before I left. I'm going to the post office today to buy stamp sheets so this letter writing this is really gonna happen.
