Excalibur practically bounced into the tavern to pick up lunch in her way to visit Syrena, ordering her usual at the counter and then looking around when she inevitably ended up waiting. Most of the people in the diner were the usual ones for that time of day, but then she spotted the new guy who was dressed a bit funny for this town.
She knew that the waitress-bot would find her when her food was ready, so she wandered over to his table curiously. "I don't think I've seen you around here. Are you new in town?"
Being torn from his train of thought, Castiel turned his head, slowly, blue eyes wide for just a moment, expression just a twinge of curiosity. He considered her for a moment before folding his hands onto his lap under the table. "I..." He hesitated, not quite sure how to proceed and trying to pull from any overheard or watched conversations. "I just arrived today. I am...new to this town." That seemed human enough, though, he wasn't sure if anyone was what he thought of when he thought of humans.
She smiled. "I thought so. New people usually have this funny confused look, so you learn to spot it pretty well. Do you mind if I join you? I might be able to help a bit if you have questions."
A funny confused look? Castiel was almost completely sure that he wore that expression constantly on Earth. Though, this place...he had no idea. "I would appreciate any knowledge you could give me." He shifted slightly in his seat, folding his hands on the table top to appear normal. "Can you tell me where I am?"
